Where other so-called 'breathable' waterproof fabrics function by an indirect, slow process of absorption and evaporation, only eVENT® fabric technology offers Direct Venting of perspiration through microscopic vents engineered into its membrane. eVENT fabric is the first waterproof fabric to provide this kind of breathability.

eVENT Fabric is a Direct Venting waterproof barrier that marks a significant advancement in ePTFE laminate technology. Using proprietary and patented Dry System technology, eVENT Fabric sets a new standard for comfort by allowing perspiration to dissipate and vent without saturating the inside of the fabric.

At the core of eVENT Fabric is an ePTFE (expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene) film that has been rendered oil-repellant, and thereby free from body-oil contamination, via a method that retains both the inherent open-pore structure of the membrane as well as its hydrophobic properties.

Polartec 100 is ideal as a thick thermal base layer or a thin middle layer to wear underneath a breathable shell.

Polartec Windbloc is ideal in cold windy conditions when an outer shell garment isn't necessary. The fabric is 100% windproof, breathable and warm.

Nosquito insect repellent fabrics offer unparalleled protection from biting insects by having a pyrethoid chemical impregnated into the fabric. The chemical is odourless, non-toxic (unlike DEET-based products) and lasts for a minimum of 35 washes. The fabric is effective against a wide range of biting insects including mosquitoes, midges and sand flies making all garments ideal for serious global adventure travel. Craghoppers Nosquito range was launched in 2002 and was the first of its kind in the world. Independent testing and research in conjunction with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine - has seen the range grow to include clothing, accessories and repellents.

All Craghopper's down garments use high quality duck down mixed with 20% feathers. Down is the best insulator because it has superior warmth without weight and it packs down to a very small size. Craghopper's down garments are not waterproof but water resistant - if the down becomes wet, it clumps together and becomes ineffective at trapping air. To extend the life of a down garment, store it unpacked in a wardrobe, not stuffed into its storage bag.
