In the early 1980’s, two ski company executives, Clark Matis and John Schweizer, joined Randy J. Merrell, who made top-end custom boots that sold for $500 a pair.

The idea was to design a more affordable high-performance boot. This was developed in 1982 and by the mid 1990s; Merrell hiking boots were being sold in 22 countries.

Merrell’s most iconic shoe, the slip on Jungle Moc, was a runaway success and by 2009, the company had sold 10 million pairs.

In 2007, Merrell expanded their ranges to include clothing and accessories and by 2010, the brand was being sold in 151 countries.

Today, Merrell is a keen ambassador of the great outdoors and supporter of several initiatives to get people out and about whether in parks, wilderness, trekking, hiking, walking, running.

The men’s Merrell Chameleon3 and Outbound ranges are made using  Gore-Tex® technology, to keep your feet dry and wick away moisture created by your feet, increasing Breathability. This is especially important for use in hotter weather and for blister management.
The Merrell Chameleon3 Ventilator is made from suede leather for durability and mesh for Breathability, essential when moving fast over stones and rocks. Toe bumpers help to prolong the life of the shoes. The Merrell Chameleon comes with an Ortholite Anatomical Footbed to provide cushioning, comfort and support. Linings are that treated with Aegis Antimicrobial solution to help prevent foot odour.
