This Merrell womens walking shoe uses a mesh upper and Goretex XCR membrane lining to not only provide great breathability by wicking away moisture from the foot in warm weathers but ensures that it is completely waterproof when raining or crossing streams. The Extended Comfort Range (XCR) is perfect for high output activities such as hiking and means this verstile shoe can be worn all year round. The ladies Siren Sport GTX is built around a womens last that is narrower at the ball of the foot but with longer toes than a mans foot and so will provide a fantastic fit. On top of this Merrell have developed the QForm midsole which together with an air cushion acts to correct pronation common in women due to their stride pattern. Correcting this twisting of the foot prevents discomfort and re directs the gait which also increases the life of the shoe by ensuring an even wear pattern. A nylon shank provides extra support to the arch of the foot, essential if carrying extra pack weight and an Ortholite removable footbed lies inside the shoe for added comfort and odour protection. To finish off this fantastic trail shoe Merrell have incorporated a Vibram sole which is composed of two levels of tread. The bottom determines the foot's roll and features Vibram TC5+ rubber treads with differing profiles depending on the area of the shoe. The top layer has a series of side stripes to allow for uphill power and downhill precision and little spikes provide stability when striking the ground. This is completed using a EVA wedge for cushioning. The Siren Song sole has 5mm lugs which makes it suitable for use on various terrains along with light hiking, trails, walking and biking.
