The classic Base Camp Duffel from The North Face has been restyled for 2011 but still has its original features including its 42 litre capacity, large D shaped opening and remains a great alternative to a traditional suitcase. The Base Camp Small duffel is durable enough to withstand luggage belts and rough handling and looks funkier than ever.

Much like its biggest brother

Much like its biggest brother (XL) which I also own this small TNF duffel excels in every aspect. Extremely well made & very robust. Choice of handles from end-grabs, rucksack-type over-the-shoulder (detachable) and conventional twin handles. Though not mentioned in the online review, this bag also features the daisy-chains like the other TNF duffels for various attachment options. Good strong zips, an internal pocket and a handy hanger for convenient key storage. Admittedly, like all North Face equipment this bag isnt cheap, but you do get what you pay for & I'm always happy to pay once for top quality kit; than buy cheap & replace when worn out. I sincerely doubt I could wear out this bag even if I tried. If you want an ultra-reliable, secure robust bag - or if you just want the best - this is it !
