Info on the Vango Apollo 500 Tent

The Apollo 500 (2011 edition) camping tent from Vango is a 5 man tent with some fantastic features. This 2011 edition of the Apollo 500 has an improved waterproof rating to keep you dry no matter what the weather. This Vango tent has front and side entry for flexibility, a sewn in groundsheet which keeps draughts and bugs out and mesh ventilation for warmer days. The Apollo 500 would make a great family tent as it has a living area as well as a porch and a large sleeping area to sleep 5.

We hope you will be completely satisfied with the Vango Apollo 500 Tent purchased from Simply Hike. However should you wish, you can return the Vango Apollo 500 Tent for any reason within 28 days from the date of despatch for a full refund (less postage costs).

Items must be unused and in an as new condition with all packaging and labels/tags attached. The latest date for returns is printed on your delivery note for clarification.

This is a great tent at a great price

This is a great tent at a great price. We used it for a festival back in July and for just 2 of us, it was extremely spacious. Now that we've put this tent up once, it is quite simple, but just have patience with it. We had quite big gusts of winds, so hold on tight because it's quite a big tent! I like the way the inner attaches to the outer with simple clips and you can even leave the two connected to take the tent down if you are in a hurry / it's raining. We are both 5'6" so the height was perfect. It was easy to dress without stooping to much or having to lie down to put your clothes on. The sleeping area is big enough for a double air mattress and 2 large backpacks with space still to spare. We used the porch area for relaxing in and easily sat with a couple of chairs. As it rained one night, we could hang all our wet clothing in the porch area and keep it separate from where we were sleeping. During the day we opened the porch right up to let the air in, great for entertaining and socializing with your friends. The mesh around the inner door kept the wasps out, very important during the summer days! I love it!

Very happy with this

Very happy with this. It's supposed to sleep five. We slept three very very comfortably (two adult-sized and one child-sized) and could have fitted in another adult but not a fifth. I find this is generally true though so it's not a criticism of this particular tent. The sleeping area is generous but the living area is smaller so if you want a tent with a living area you can all sit in at once this isn't the tent for you. I love that it all fits into one small bag and is light. It's fairly easy to put up - I managed it on my own. We had some pretty heavy and prolonged rain on its first outing. I was slightly worried to begin with as some spray did come through the fly sheet onto the outside of the inner tent. After a while though this stopped and the tent withstood plenty more heavy rain - it rained heavily for about 5 hours one day and we survived that. I'm hoping the spraying was just the fabric settling in but will maybe research this a little just to check. I liked that we had the riser ground sheet - it really helped us to keep dry. Overall I think this is a great tent and was very pleased with the price I paid. Delivery was fast and excellent too.
