I don't know why I never used one of these before! It was buying a new car and the need for a new roofrack that made me look at a HandiRack - and I am pleased I did. It is very easy to set up and carried my sea kayak with ease and security. Additionally, the inflatable nature of the rack means that my kayak is protected from jolts and bumps. Also - it is a third of the price a normal roof rack would have been!! Excellent service from Simplyhike as well.

leaks when it rains i mean it really poors into the car, just put handirack leaks into a search engine and see what it produces, avoid at all costs.

The HandiRack is brill

The HandiRack is brill & so simple to use. Carried home some timber panels yesterday that were too long to go in the car and they didn't move at all.

Excellent product for occasional use

Excellent product for occasional use. Fits easily to my Freelander and is safe and secure. Made of better grade materials than I expected and should therfore last a very long time.

Very good product

Very good product. Easy and quick to fit and to disassemble and pack away.I used it with the HandiHoldall but it would be ideal to use for ladders or rigid bulky objects. Note, in heavy rain some water will wick down the webbing straps through the door seals into the car, but this is a minor problem. Highly recommended

Easy to install on car but leaks when it rains

Easy to install on car but leaks when it rains. The rain runs along the straps that go through the car and then drips on the seats. We had to use towels wrapped round the straps on our holidays to catch the rain.

This too suffers from the problem of letting water in...

This too suffers from the problem of letting water in through the straps at the car door! Once again no good in British weather. Our weather system is by it's very nature changable and so setting off using both the rack & holdall requires the the travel time be dry or you things will get wet and so will you. I tried both methods of fastening the srap through the door and neither worked. I will say the weather was bad but I had to be somewhere and expected these products to work

I am afraid although it seemed like a clever idea...

I am afraid although it seemed like a clever idea ( and is in many ways) .There is one major problem with the handirack. That is that when it rains water runs along the straps and into the car .In fact if you were on a long journey and it rained constantly for 3 or 4 hours both you and your seats would get VERY wet . A shame , would have been very good otherwise. Wayne

Very Good, It was rather a leap of faith to use it but I shipped a 40" flat screen TV 50 miles down the motorway on top of my 2dr 911 without any problems. Tubes are good quality and robust. does absolutely no damage to the roof or interior and doesn't move about, though you need more straps than those provided as they are too short for larger loads. Gave it 8/10 because pump build quality is a bit naff but ok for the price and it uses a standard fitting you'll find on dinghiy/inflatable pumps.

More than an inflatable airbed - a lot sturdier. Very good and handled speeds in excess of 80mph on motorways. Not good on the fuel consumption though

I bought this handirack to make a boot rack for...

I bought this handirack to make a boot rack for my smart roadster. It works beautifully. I have had my daughter's suitcase on the top weighing 30kg and it sits really well without any problems - it is the perfect solution for occasional use and packs up very small afterwards. A great investment.

great item

great item. easy to put on and take off. much cheaper than a conventional roof rack/bar arrangement and also portable between different car makes. i don't know if it was originally designed for kayaks or surfboards etc but we have used more often to move flatpack furniture with no problems.

As an owner of a saloon car I spent some time considering a roof rack but I did not like having to drive around with it fitted when its use might be needed and what about damage to the car as well as storeage when not in use.By chance I found a video of the Handy rack inflatable on line, and bought one. Its many uses, and serviceblity are numerous, and how convenient,best £40 Ive spent for ages.

this is my second handirack and I must say I...

this is my second handirack and I must say I find them brilliant I use mine every weekend and have no trouble with 3 kayaks on top . I would recomend this rack to any one . although it would be nice if they were a bit cheaper but if you want first class I suppose you must pay for it
