This was a replacement for a previous Petzl head torch...

This was a replacement for a previous Petzl head torch which finally gave up the coast after 5 years of offshore use. The red filter is a bonus which the previous incarnation didn't have so this version is even more suitable for purpose. My one concern is the 'weatherproofing', the sealing is not great and after a night in the wet, the unit needs to be stripped down and properly dried out or the batteries will start to 'rot'. A good piece of kit though, I wouldn't sail without one.

Does what it says

Does what it says. Could do with a little more padding behind the lamp to avoid creases on forehead!

Fantastic piece of kit

Fantastic piece of kit. Especially when you need the Red Filter and can't be bothered trying to change lenses, as on some other lamps.

Petzl is not the cheapest option

Petzl is not the cheapest option, but with Petzl you get what you pay for. Superb quality kit. This torch is tough, bright, the different lighting levels are useful, and the red filter easy to use. I use a lot of Petzl gear for work, and wouldnt use anyone else.

Absolutely fantastic

Absolutely fantastic. The strap is comfortable, the unit isn't too heavy and it's made from durable materials. The red filter is great for night time illumination too. It's much better than some headtorches where you have to cycle through the modes to get to the red light. I would thoroughly recommend this headtorch to anyone.

Excellent piece of kit

Excellent piece of kit, love the swivel base so that I can aim the light just where it is needed. Good quality strap. Top quality materials and finish, saved some money by not having to buy a red filter as one is supplied with this head torch/light, and because I bought it from Simply Hike top discount price as well
