Trangia 25-1 UL Cooker

Trangia 25-1 UL Cooker

Trangia 25-1UL Stove. This storm-proof, spirit burning, aluminium stove is ideal for three/four people. The Trangia is a light, fast and, above all, reliable stove for the outdoors, in all weathers. Two windshields that fit together, a burner, a couple of pans, a combined lid/frypan and a handle. It is lightweight, needs no special care and is hardwearing. The Trangia stove is reliable, without unnecessary parts that can go wrong or be adversely affected by cold. The stove is quick to set up, and packs into a compact unit that takes up minimal space.

The silent burner has a simple, durable and safe design. Regardless of the weather, wind and season, it is easy to light. The spirit burner takes up little space and weighs less than a gas burner. The simmer ring is used to regulate the heat, which saves fuel, and is used to extinguish the flame. In severe cold, a winter attachment can be useful. A pre-heater is placed under the burner, filled with fuel and lit to warm up the burner. The accompanying, reflective plate is used as a base. The Trangia stove can also run on bottled gas. The Trangia range of accessories includes a gas burner and a multi-fuel burner.

Part of the Duke of Edinburgh recommended kit.

The flaps to put over the burner

The flaps to put over the burner, to control the size of the flame are REALLY stiff - hope they'll ease up a little as they're hard enough to move cold, let alone hot! Apart from that, everything's good thanks

I already have a Trangia 27 and I needed the larger 25 for a recent cycle/camping tour of the Outer Hebrides. I think the Trangia stoves are excellent as a simple, no nonsense, ultra reliable stove. I prefer this type of stove for the ease of obtaining fuel in remote areas, most hardware and general stores sell methylated spirits. The stove is very easy to use, will work in any weather conditions, including howling gales. The pans are easy to use and large enough for the biggest of appetites. Adjusting the simmer control is difficult once it gets very hot so you have to be careful that you don't burn yourself on it (a metal tent peg or knife comes in useful here). It all packs down to a compact size and fits snugly in the bottom of a pannier bag. If you want a stove for one person buy the Trangia 27, the 25 is plenty big enough for two or more people. I also recommend buying the multidisc, this stores inside the cooker when not in use and is invaluable for chopping food and using as a strainer.

Excellent service

Excellent service, best price available for this item which arrived in excellent condition and well packaged. I bought this for camping alone and camping with others as I do make alot of meals when camping so this was ideal. Used with D of E recommended fuel. Many thanks.
