A US ski resort has kicked off the Utah ski season in style by unveiling two shiny new chairlifts for visitors.
Skiers at the Brighton Resort in Big Cottonwood Canyon can climb aboard either the Majestic or Snake Creek Express chairs to enjoy a luxurious lift to the top of the slopes.
Servicemen and veterans can also enjoy free rides to the summit on the first day of the Utah season on Thursday.
The offer recognises Veterans Day - which is also happening on Thursday.
Brighton is the first Utah resort to open, but others in the area - including Solitude and Snowbird - will be up and running soon.
Ski Utah communications director Jessica Kunzer said that although cautious, the state's resorts are expecting a good ski season.
She added: "The snow we have already received always helps boost consumer confidence as people book their vacations for the holidays, President's Day, and other days throughout the season."
