Lakeland Hikes For Campers

Eskdale and Ravenglass Camping and Caravanning Club sites are offering campers the opportunity to explore the Lake District’s beautiful countryside with a fully qualified Mountain Leader. Campers will have the chance to walk on some of the area’s most beautiful and unspoilt paths, which usually can only be spotted by using the expertise and knowledge of a Mountain Leader. Mountain Leader, Tom Higgs, has over 20 years' experience and has carefully tailored each walk to suit both adults and children alike. A day’s guided walking tour costs just £15 per adult and £10 per child (under the age of 17) and will start on September 4. The guided walks will start and finish at Eskdale and Ravenglass Club Sites (dependent upon interest). Eskdale and Ravenglass Franchisees Martyn and Sara Merckel are delighted to be able to offer such an exciting service and they said, “Tom has lived in the Lake District for most of his life and has a fantastic knowledge of the area and its walking trails. Campers will be given the option to walk up climbs such as Harter Fell from the bottom of Hard Knott Pass or choose more leisurely routes around some of the gentler Tarns. Both Ravenglass and Eskdale are located in areas which can only be described as a walker’s paradise – there really is something for everyone.”
