New In: Montane 2015

header We have just started getting the new spring summer gear in from Montane here at Simply Hike. To kick things off we have picked our five favourite products so far in the range!

Men’s Direct Ascent eVent Jacket

mevent-51768 This is probably the most technical Montane jacket will be getting in this season! This jacket is constructed with a 3 layer waterproof system from eVent, this means you will stay dry no matter the weather. The greatest thing about eVent is how breathable they make their membranes, you won’t find a more breathable membrane on the market! This jacket is designed around the climber in your life but is perfect for everyday hiking as well. The front pockets are big enough to fit OS and Harvey maps. The hood has three adjustable points meaning you can wear the hood over or under your climbing helmet. The Ascent has a tailored fit to it so it will work perfectly in a 3 in 1 system.

Women’s Sonic T Shirt

wsonic-51671 This t-shirt is designed for a range of activities including climbing, hiking, scrambling, fell running and coastal walking. The Sonic uses DryActiv technology which is fast-wicking and drying. It also has an antibacterial treatment, so if you have to wear the shirt for a couple of days due to a long hike this will stop the top smelling. The Sonic from Montane has a tailored fit making it perfect for any fast paced hiker or runner. This fit means the t-shirt will move with you rather than flapping behind you. It also has a UPF of 50+ with the side panels being UPF of 20+ giving you great protection from the sun.

Men’s Minimus Pant

mminimus-51676 Are you after a lightweight and breathable pair of waterproof trousers? Then look no further than the Minimus pant! This pant has won Trail magazine's 'Best for Fast and Light Travel' award in 2012 and 2013! It uses a Pertex shell which is super lightweight and highly waterproof. The ¼ length side zips give you easy access to pull over footwear and brilliant ventilation to keep your legs cool. The Minimus from Montane has an elasticated waist and hem which you can adjust to suit your needs giving you a perfect custom fit. The knee has been articulated for high step movements and to top it off you get a hand stuff sac to keep it all in!

Women’s Direct Ascent eVent Jacket

wevent-51762 Yes we know we know we have cheated a bit here at Simply Hike by not adding this with the Man’s Ascent jacket but there is a reason for that… this jacket is just awesome! The Women’s Ascent features eVent waterproofing, to find out more about eVent then check out this video:

So you now know that you will stay dry with eVent and also stay cool thanks to its amazing breathability.  The Ascent jacket has a great fit it making it a perfect year-round jacket, the pockets are of course big enough for Harvey and OS maps and the hood is fully adjustable so you can fit it around your climbing helmet.

Ultra Tour 22 Daypack

ultra22-51666 After a compact daypack? Then look no further than the Montane Ultra Tour 22 daypack. The Ultra features Raptor Zero fabric which is lightweight but super tough! With its ‘comfort back pad’ with a lower race profile and narrow channels helps wick away your sweat for your body. The roll top closing gives you quick and easy access to the main section of the bag which works perfectly with the massive stash pocket on the front. The Ultra has body curved hip fins which give you better stability and comfort whilst on the move. You get the usual chest and hip straps, compression straps and tons of pockets to play with. Another thing to mention is the fact that this pack also has a HH (hydrostatic head) of 1,000 mm which is pretty cool!   There we have our top picks from the latest gear from Montane.
