Google Street View Comes To Hiking Trails

In the same way the Google has attached it's image mapping techology to cars, trikes and trolley to map out the world they have now created backpack called "Google Street View Trekker" that houses all the technology required to create full 360 degree shots  in a hope of mapping out the wilderness around the world. Weighing in at 40lbs it's a technology fest with a full computer, gps tracker integrated and a 15 camera pod on top for caputuring all the angles 360 degrees around. Here is what Google have to say about the Street View Trekker:
Today, we’re taking another step forward with our Street View Trekker. You’ve seen our cars, trikes, snowmobiles and trolleys—but wheels only get you so far. There’s a whole wilderness out there that is only accessible by foot. Trekker solves that problem by enabling us to photograph beautiful places such as the Grand Canyon so anyone can explore them. All the equipment fits in this one backpack, and we’ve already taken it out on the slopes.
Check out the video of it in action from Youtube.
