MX3 Adventure offer a huge range of freeze dried meals designed to keep pack weight to a minimum on your next hike. The MX3 meals are the best hiking foods we've tasted and are in quite large portions so they'll feed even the hungriest hiker. MX3 meals are different than those already on the marketplace simply because they don't just offer the standard favourites like Chicken Curry or Bolognaise but more adventurous and extremely tasty meals like their red noodle shrimp curry and the exotically sounding Tartiflette Savoyarde (chopped potatoes with cheese, onion and bacon). Even better they offer a pudding selection and mueslis designed for breakfast on the hillside so ideal if you have a sweet tooth. MX3 adventure dehydrated hiking meals are actually made by French chefs and supply the French military.
The meals themselves are super quick to prepare. They come vacuum packed in their foil bags and you just cut open the top, spread the base so the food stands alone on a surface and pour in boiling water to the line indicated on the pack. Rehydrating time is roughly 15 minutes which gives you time to watch the sun go down and relax. Then, simply open the bag and eat straight from the packet.
At Simply Hike we tried the Chicken pasta and was really surprised at the quality of the food. Their packs have recognisable pieces of meat and veg inside and the food rehydrated very well. The dehydrated meals are fairly high in calories so will provide that much needed energy for a few days on the mountain side.
